We did this last weekend and the kids loved it!! We made a small fire in our fire pit and had roasted hotdogs on a stick and smores. It was great. We would layout a blanket and eat our dinner on it -picnic style- and the roll out our sleeping bags and spend the night . The best time we had doing this was when we were forced to, when the eletricity went out, it made it feel more rustic with no lights on. An added bonus is having the kids sleep in their own beds every night. Three of them will be spent camping with the boys scouts. We might take in a movie, but honestly, he took this time off to work on some major renovation projects we have to get done around our house. Still he is excited about being off from work! I think I will splurge and buy us some nice steaks next week to grill out and maybe some shrimp too!<br /><br />love your list. I guess my only added tip would be to play some board games with the kiddos. Yesterday, I sqeezed in some time to play monopoly with my older ones and candyland with the younger.
